A: A longbow +3 AB, ordinary ammo B: A normal longbow arrows +3 dmg C: A normal longbow +1D6 piercing dmg D: 5 lvl arcane archer normal bow/ammo E: is a ranger casting blade thirst on your ordinary bow
Just to clarify: A: Penetrates the DR. Weapon +AB always penetrates DR. B: Does not penetrate the DR. +Damage on arrows alone will not penetrate DR. C: Does not penetrate the DR. +Damage on weapons alone will not penetrate DR. For the record, in NWN you can't put a damage bonus directly on a bow. D: Penetrates the DR. Arcane Archer Enchant Arrow feats penetrate DR. At AA level 9, they penetrate all DR spells and properties as if they were +5 Enhancement. It stacks with both arrow +Damage and with weapon +AB. (IMO, for these reasons it's a class poorly suited to a low magic world). E: Penetrates the DR. On Thain, Blade Thirst adds a +AB to a bow, which penetrates DR.

Wait, so an PC with 9 AA lvls and a +3 Bow has an +8 To Hit /before/ DEX, Weapon Focus, and BAB is factored in?

It can be an overpowered class. Calioun has some pretty lethal flaws too though. No hints on them though. AA has a big weakness if you're not rather careful.

Exactly. A ten-level AA gets the absolute highest AB's of any class build, and defeats any DR short of +6/x. And, they're doing this at a distance, often with buffed dex and correspondingly high AC of their own.
They're not the only class with these sorts of issues; I'd put RDDs, Clerics, and Shifters into the same category. This being said, being very powerful doesn't automatically make one over-powered; that's more a matter of playstyle and roleplay ability.

AAs are decently powerful, and that's magnified by the fact that the item types they want are all available in +3s. Melee fighters are often restricted to +1 or +2 depending on their choice of weapon, but an AA easily finds +3 everything from the standard merchants. Their ranged DPS is powerful and relatively unconditional, beyond the fact that you have to buy a lot of expensive arrows. Of course, all the 'utility' arcane archers get is hilariously bad, but the damage numbers are actually enough to make up for it.
Unsuprisingly, primary spellcasters blow AAs completely out of the water every time. You'd be silly to call AAs overpowered for that reason.

i never seen the big fuss about RDDs actually, a mxmised bulls strength, a few atime and bard song give about same bonus to hit/dmgs, and has probably GMW and stuff
th eclass have poor skills, half decent hp and not very good BAB
bard 16/fighter 4, clerics and some other get that power without needing ot make strange über builds or something
The AA enchantment stacking tho.. thats.. thats ridiculous O.o

Depends what you mean by poorly suited to a low magic world.
Add a bagnorn bow with +3 Ab and +8 mighty, the UMD and strength to be able to make full use of it and it means that Wasp is happily(*) soloing Craggen island and Poison Wood (including crypt and temple) without too many problems.
(*) Actually, she'd be happier with some friends for these sort of trips but often there's no one playing BST timezone that wants to go along...
