Actually, I'm quite sure they are added together, just like sneak attacks gained from different class levels. That is, unless someone did a tweak on this ability on Thain.

Dicipline is a class skill for the Fighter, the barbarian (!) and the bard (??).
Now, I can see the Fighter. It's a skill made for a fighter. The barbarian, however? A Diciplined barbarian? What's next, a clumsy rogue? Maybe we can imagine it being a thing about barbarians, beight though enough to withstand things like knockdown and such, but ... dicipline? *shrugs*
As for bards.... That one is really puzzling me. I can't even begin to comprehend it. bards are the epitome of chaotic beeings, living from tavern to tavern, yes?
I'd give the skill to monks, clerics, fighters, paladins and rangers, imo. But I never made the ruleset, I'm afraid.
Dicipline really wasn't a skill for D&D anyway. It's a mashdown of many other skills, and not really that useful. I'd stick to tumble or spellcraft or something if I was you

It's also a class skill for the monk.
The Discipline skill in NWN is not about stength of mind only. It's about being able to resist knockdown (and taunt, I think, but that's the mind issue). Therefore the bard that goes from bar to bar will probably have been in many bar fights and will know how to keep his balance, which might be the reason they gave them the skill.

Are you sure, Aremah? I can't log on to check, but all online pages I can find on the matter seems to disagree
Anyway, I always thought Discipline was about composedness in battle, the physical control of every aspect of everything you do. Much unlike a barbarian throwing himself at the target, a person with dicipline would more or less walk into the frey in a controlled manner.
Concentration would be the mental counterpart of discipline.

Actually, yes, it is Concentration that defends against Taunt, my bad. However, Discipline is, as per your description, very much a Monk skill. Also as per your description and understanding, Takano has points in both Discipline and Concentration (though the latter doesn't make much sense in a strictly NWN view).
