As far as I remember, all their skills stack, except spells and spell duration.
Discipline is to resist knockdown, disarm, called shot. While Concentration is to do with resisting taunts and holding your spell while being attacked. (Concentration + d20 vs damage, I think)

Dogbert forgot the -4 penalty if the spellcaster is within 3 meters of an enemy. (See the "Combat Casting" feat.) I'm not sure if that penalty is cumulative for every enemy in that range.

Actually, he didn't forget it. That penalty is only applied when casting defensively and there is an enemy within 4 meters, and no, it's not cumulative. For those who don't know, defensive casting is a way of casting so that you don't get AoOs on you by nearby enemies. If you make your concentration check, the spell is cast without an AoO, and if you fail it, the spell is lost like it would be if you were hit and failed the concentration check (but there is still no AoO). The check on defensive casting is: Concentration + d20 vs spell level + 15, and if you don't have the Combat Casting feat and an enemy is within 4 meters, you add 4 to the DC, or subtract 4 from your roll.
At least, that's my understanding from using the feat and defensive casting, plus the in-game description of the feat.

According to the rules I found on the net, yes.
COMBAT CASTING [GENERAL]
Benefit: You get a +4 bonus on Concentration checks made to cast a spell or use a spell-like ability while on the defensive or while you are grappling or pinned.
Of course, it's a prerequesite to other very cool feats, though, so it's not really a waste to pick.

combat casting removes the -4 penalty to concentration checks when casting a spell within 4 metres of an enemy. Those concentration checks are made either when you enter defensive casting mode, or when you are hit for damage, so the feat is of benifit whether you use defensive casting or not, it's just that if you are within 4 metres of an enemy you would be wise to use defensive casting anyway

I really hope the original question of this thread has been answered, but this last few posts got me wondering, and I am derailing...derailing this thread ...
