Servers are not region tied, so if you're in the EU you can still play on US servers. However, probably due to some corporate bs, you have to purchase the European version to play in Europe (to prevent people in Europe from getting it for less in the US). They're working on something to accommodate travelers, but I'm not sure what that is.

As of right now there are only 3 servers running (Anvilrock, Yak's Bend, and Borlis Pass), they are not region based. However, in the past the betas they have been region based so I am not sure what they are going to do for the beta this upcoming weekend.
It will be exciting to see WvWvW with many more players.

According to the blog post announcing the BWE, ArenaNet is expected hundreds of thousands of players. I'm not sure if that means their prepurchase program was a huge success, or that's the number they're going to shoot for with beta invites + prepurchases.

And it seems there is no NDA too which is nice to actually be able to finally talk about it.
I do have an established guild who have been together since 2007 I can talk with them and see if they would be open to adding a few Thaintes for the weekend.
