I just saw these two little gems on NWVault and thought I'd let you know:
Cleave and Clobber
They should be very useful for people who use their chatlog to keep track of events.

Both appear to be really handy utilities. I can't seem to get Clobber to work right, but that may just be because I'm trying at 1:35 AM.
First I tried to make a shortcut that would log directly into Thain. My target line said "C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\utils\clobber.exe [-h] [-s 24.87.116.249 [-p ]] [-f logs/nwclientlog1.txt] [-d logs]", but apparently that isn't the proper way to do it. Not sure what I'm doing wrong there.
When I ran it directly it seemed to work fine, but after I closed NWN it gave me an error saying it could not move the nwclientlog file to the timestamped one. Again, not sure what the problem is. Any ideas? [ Edited Wed Jun 02 2004, 04:20PM ]

Not sure, but could be that the line is run from another place than the NWN folder. You would then probably need absolute paths for the log file and maybe also the log folder.
Just wondering have you set the start folder to : "C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\" ? Or just run the above command in the run window ?
The diffrence is that the command line will run the clobber.exe from the given folder in your current folder (usually c:\).
When you make a shortcut, there is an option to set the start/execute folder, if that is what you have set to "C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\", then that should be okay.
Also, might be a idea to check if the logfile name that NWN makes is correct. And that you have remembered to turn on client chat logging
Client Chat Logging is on. I use it a lot, though this sounds like a really useful tool for when I forget to save logs.
Edit - removed the [] (I knew I was missing something obvious!), but it still has the same problem. [ Edited Wed Jun 02 2004, 05:21PM ]
