My very first character finished her story and is now done on Thain. I didn't kill her, but did let her fade into the Feywoods. Not all characters need an epic death. Just like in real life, some you just lose touch with, and they become a memory.

With Vic he is currently in a struggle over a promise he made and didn't keep. If he keeps the promise it would mean permadeath.

I think it's a good tool to use if you are truly ready for a characters story to come to an end.
