A most concerned red-haired Dwarf named Drebb has been haunting the Crossroads for the last couple of days, imploring everyone not to head south in the kobold-infested caves; he is quite vocal about a terrible, fanged Dark Elf witch with the power to bring to cursed unlife heaps of bones that can tower up to three, four or even five Humans height-wise and howl in a most profane and blasphemous way.
When not pestering every single traveller and Crossroads resident in sight, the rotund Drebb is drinking heavily at the campfire just outside the Tackle, sighing and mumbling unhappily.

News quickly spread around Steinkreis, and to the wider area less slowly, of a murder in the Flying Mug Inn. Double murder in fact.
Two men, of little reknown or importance, were killed in broad daylight within the Flying Mug while others made merry and families had lunch together.
The two assailants then quickly fled. Another body - later identified as one of the assailants by an anonymous witness - was later recovered from Lowtown.
Whispers talk of him being a gang member but few know the real truth.
One thing is sure - tensions are on the rise again within Steinkreis after such a brazen attack, and official advice is to 'avoid Lowtown' and travelling the streets at night.

Rumors tell of a strange and barefoot wild man of the woods, with twigs and moss in his hair, building a bonfire in the Crossroads field near to the odd standing stones and calling for others to celebrate Beltane with him in dance and song and fire.

Vandals and toll guards were struck in a brazen daylight attack just outside of Raven's Watch.
The attack was led by Captain DuVall and comprised a sizable group of adventurers. Before heading north, the Captain used several of his trick bolts to melt down the largest group of bodies.
Each of the attackers was paid a hefty sum afterwards.

The elves of Greenvale report that one of their patrols were found dead including several guards at the very gates of Greenvale itself, in addition Sandburrow and Hammersong have also confirmed similar attacks on their guard outposts just outside their towns. Rumors spread that these attacks may have been in retaliation to the recent attack on Raven's Watch.

Within the city of Steinkreis, there has been a rash of murders and assaults. The victims were attacked in alleyways, dragged to rooftops, or even torn from their homes. Two are dead, and several more have been injured
All of the targets appear to be criminals themselves. Murderers, rapists. Few who could be called undeserving of their fates. The greater their sins, the worse their fates.
Those who survive are panicked for hours or days afterward. They gibber about a dark creature who spoke into their thoughts, and eagerly confess to their past crimes, ranting for hours about any small transgressions they might have made against the city's laws.

Bence has hired a handful of stonemasons, in spite of shortages with the war. He's not spoken much about as to why, but rumours circulate he is preparing to fortify the Trade so he can leave it in good shape to his granddaughter, Marie.
Bence, of course, scoffs at anyone who suggests he retire or points out his white hair.
Traveling through the fortress of Ravens Watch at night is often a dangerous thing. Those who've dared, speak of suspicious activity in the dead of night.
Figures seem to be hauling crates of unknown items into one of the larger manor homes, but even if approached none will give any information as to what is going on, nor who now owns the property.
Some people gossip about lightning strikes at menhirs around the island. Mostly these have just been observed, but in some cases people have left offerings by the stones. People are even saying that some who have left offerings have been richly rewarded.
Some people are having dreams of a powerful man riding the clouds above the island, wielding lightning as a weapon. There is rumor of an investigation that ties this to the lightning strikes at the standing stones of the crossroads.
