Rumors carried by the lips of those who traveled by the Trade and Tackel claim that a cadre of demons struck out from just north of the crossroads. A group of adventurers who happened to be nearby responded to the threat and eliminated the demons which poured forth from a rift portal.
The portal was then closed and the spreading rift fires were extinguished, thereby securing the safety of the crossroads, the Trade, and the people of Thain.
The group was described as consisting of: a shadowy, hooded elf; a man carrying red blades; a quiet, cloaked elf; a helmeted woman; and a blue-and-gold robed mage with a red-tipped staff.
Rumours have escaped Feywood that a great calamity has been avoided. Furthermore, as Loremaster Darius is edging and creeping towards old age, those same rumours tell of a younger Elf being groomed to one day assume Darius's mantle.
From the other end of the island, in Hammersong, rumours tell of two valiant Dwarves who have saved the day against the grey 'uns. Yet that victory is not celebrated. A dense tension reigns in Hammersong these days. Why, few know...

Rumors begin to spread after the monks of the Qui Vie suddenly stop all trade and caravans to and from their monastery. However with the mounting tensions against Ravens Watch, Steinkreis has not spared the manpower to investigate.

Rumor has it that a Sandburrow boldfoot, while on guard patrol, met a myserious elf wearing a stag helmet. The elf fed him stew but after eating told him the stew is actually cooked halfling. Then it revealed its face and it was all disfigured and rotting, the only eye madly glaring at the hin who turned and ran as fast as he could.

DRAGON KIN ARMIES SEEN ON THAIN
[ image disabled ]
Attention all good, upstanding citizens of Thain, a new foreign element has set taloned foot on the island to take from us that which we have toiled so hard to build: honest civilisation. These foreign usurpers, an army of dragon kin, have been causing havoc across large swaths of the island.
The first incursion transpired in the Wastes, with the goodly men and women of the Empyrean Aurora sacrificing brave and gods-fearing soldiers to defend the Asabi camp from a raiding army of red-winged dragon kin. The beastly aggressors butchered soldiers as well as innocent nomads, among them women and young ones, making away with the skeleton of the blue dragon Uthundor. What nefarious deeds they intend to concoct by means of Uthundor's remains, we shudder to think.
The second incursion occurred in the forest of our elven friends, the gentle folk of Feywoods. A skirmishing unit of green-winged monstrosities have declared Feywoods as their preferred feeding ground, butchering the noble Taur'otharie with ruthless abandon to sate their ravenous hunger. The Elder Council has yet to issue a public declaration, and we pray our elven friends will endure.
Towards Mount Drakamyre, in the dead lands at the foot of the mount, black-winged dragon kin have been observed raising the dead, desecrating the lands with voodoo and black magic. The noble Kinhunters of Steinkreis have pursued these vile necromongers as far as the Drakamyre Gorge, and we await with sweating anticipation the news of their crusade.
Be warned, goodly citizens of Thain, to only travel by means of escorts in these fell days when aggression proliferates by the hour. And to those of you who are sturdy of build and noble by heart, we ask that you commit your steel and honour to the defence of the island. In the regard of safety, we bring a special interview with her Esteemed Ladyship, Ashellia Adair, the Kinsbane, the first among the Kinhunters, Virgin-Defender of Steinkreis and all her provisions.
Lady Ashellia, which actions have you and the Kinhunters undertaken to stem the tide of the transgressing dragon kin?
"The Steinkreis Kinhunters are plucked among the elite of Kreisian Knights; men and women with surpassing combat prowess and an unwavering fealty towards Steinkreis and her people. Our cause is simple: to eradicate all dragon kin beasts from the face of Thain so that our children may see a brighter dawn. The days of the wyrms have ended. Fhelkorn the Red, Adlina the White, Uthundor the Blue and Verifax the Black are undone. Their vile spawn shall soon follow. The Kinhunters will undertake any and all actions to enforce this."
What advice do you have for the goodly folk of Thain; what must one do should one come upon a dragon kin?
"It is paramount that one travels in greater number should one wish to brave any road that veers from Kreis-controlled land. Steinkreis, the Crossroads, Grey Iron and the Grauer Lands are patrolled by Knights and Knaves, but roads that are less supervised may be a prime target for dragon kin skirmishers. Should one be unfortunate enough to meet a dragon kin, do not engage. Flee towards any outpost manned by a Kinhunter for safety."
Sales of blessed steel, bolts and arrows have inflated the market. Is it true that blessed weaponry causes a dragon kin to turn to dust?
"No. Dragon kin are not undead. They are intelligent, savage beasts with blood of dragons. They bleed like anyone else, but their scales are hardy and their physique strong and resilient. It is best one not engage them at all."
Is it true that Krel Twistback sent ships all over the Mainland to recruit these vile beasts?
"That is very unlikley."
Will you reach out to the elves of Feywoods and Elisara for cooperation?
"The Kinhunters operate under holy mandate that transcends local policies and geo-political relations. We do what we must in the name of the greater good of the island. If the elves wish to assist in our sacred plight, we shall not outright dismiss the opportunity."

The Steinkries orphanage reported receiving a sizable donation from one of the noblemen in the city, who wished anonymity. The orphanage is now able to provide food for all of the children, as well as necessary books, writing utensils, eating utensils, and clothing for all of the children.

VISTHREXIA DEAD!
[ image disabled ]
It is with rejoiceful hearts that our reporters are able to deliver the news that the key figure behind the recent dragon kin terror skirmishes in Feywoods, Visthrexia, has been found dead!
Sources close to Steinkreis Times convey that a brave token of Taur'otharie rangers, aided by the most stalwart heroes of the island, took the fight to the heart of Visthrexia's operations, dismantling her forces deep in the Gerdamish Moor. Immense casualities were suffered on both sides, with the Taur'otharie being deprived of their legendary captain, Elnessril Telverethion. Our thoughts and prayers go to the families of the deceased.
On an unconfirmed sidenote, the Steinkreis Times have been told Visthrexia's lair was nothing short of a veritable dragon hoard. Enough coin was recovered to purchase a castle.
