I have the same problem. I'm not on Steam, though, just trying to download from the open NWN EE Client/Favorites/History. I've been trying to download it for months, but it just won't.

Naerwen, are you able to access the Beamdog server list? When you click on Thain, there should be an auto-downloader that downloads the required files. You may need to manually find the server in the list once if you haven't logged in in a while.

If you get an error when logging in about a file being too big, you probably aren't on the latest NWN version. Make sure you're patched to the latest game version, and not connecting on mobile (which doesn't get patches.)

Unfortunately, this computer will not run that new update. I need a better computer
