Randomly decided to check in after years and see talk of Doordie and Amel. Lots of fun memories! Arguably my first long time character, Narwyn, ended up closely aligned with Amel as his protege.
Doordie was one of the best RP's I ever played with. His stories, with his character Amel, were amazing. Rich, deep, complex. I hope Doordie is doing well! You have a really great Uncle!

I was just wondering if anyone could direct me to a crafting guide, or explain how it works, or something of the sort. I wanna get one of my characters into crafting, and I have no clue how it works.

P.S. anything related to Thain about crafting that I should know about?

basic crafting is, as far as i know, the standard NwN model .. basic weapons and armour, traps etc. but RP is king! i'd suggest more or less ignoring what you can do mechanically .. though of course it'll help to put points into a crafting skill. then, just RP it as freely and as often as you can, and hook up with other crafters and RP training and practice. RP digging your own ore, cutting your own wood, preparing your own cloth and skins etc. Thain isn't a "crafting" server but i can safely say there are likely to be long-term rewards if you RP it enough
sorry to be so vague, but unless someone on staff wants to go into more detail, the best advice i can offer (as someone who plays a 'crafter' PC) is to RP it to your heart's content, not expecting anything except for your PC to get a reputation as a maker and fixer. that's how Thain works - the only limit is your imagination..
what kind of thing do you want to craft? i'm sure players won't mind letting you know OOCly what their PCs craft so it's easier to find them in-game.
mine is called Eswyn and he's a bowyer and fletcher, and makes wands. feel free to send me a tell in-game if you'd like to get some of that type of crafting RP going.

Have to agree with mojo here.... was going to post something similar but couldn't find the proper words. RP it... if your crafting RP is notable you could get some perks from it-- mostly knick-knacks as even our "special" system doesn't give you much back for what you put in.
Just collect supplies and be creative with them. Sell to other PCs, make your presence known. Do commissions. Make inventions. Have fun.
