Anyone have any ideas as to how this might affect gameplay? I'm assuming one could just direct connect through IP on a shortcut, but thought I would prod and see if anyone with any better technical know-how or heard rumors may know more.
In similar news, I have been hearing some about a "Game Ranger". Does anyone know anything about this service?

This happened forever ago. No clue about Game Ranger but I thought Gamespy dying meant that nothing showed up on the gamespy servers, and you just had to direct connect to servers? Also, there are lists online for nwn servers, so it's not that big of a deal.

@MT,
It's slightly different.
Gamespy is the mean to connect the clients to the Server, if the 30 of June it will be shut down, all clients (DM or Players) won't be able to connect to the Server IP.
Imagine it like a bridge that gets blow up, you need another rout to reach your destination.
Game Ranger (or whatever different solution) will "restore the bridge" in order to reach the Server and join the game, basicly installing Game Ranger on both sides will make possible to play the game online.

I do know the game "Freelancer" had a similar issue and there was a download you had to get to restore the server list. I am not a techy but a mechanic, so I don't know if that would work here.

No idea about details, but was briefly scanning the neverwinter community site and there seems to be some stuff pertaining to what is being talked about here.
