Great video, Cuch! I think a lot of our players will find it very instructive. Even I picked up a tip or two. smile

...but, come on, lute *and* buckler? No wonder Mors' music wakes the dead, what with him playing the strings with his teeth. tongue

Fat Tom: An ode.

You’re a fat one, Mr. Tom.
You’re a gluttonous sporey toad!
You tried to eat Ms. Ivy,
--she got away because you’re slimy.
The gods deny you dinner,
For you--Fat Tom will become thinner!
And once you die of your sin,
We will rejoice in victory over your gluttonous corpse.
Perhaps we will eat you as the main course!
Oh how we wish you dead, we say!
May the gods bring ye waste--today.

Alas this ends an ode-
-to a trifling gluttonous toad!

Criticism
Composition: Could use improvement.
Set to music: Mm, perhaps to a tune of a flute!
Ending thoughts: Improve your timing.
Make a copy for Ms. Ivy to keep.

Spirit Bound

Although he died, his body did not decay.
For the spirit of a guardian is now within..
She awoken him a newborn man.
His sin erased. His old transgressions void.
She is not without her memories--a time of pride.
He is without memories--his past erased.

And if at night you hear the two wolves howl,
Just remember this--
Not all the wolves are big and bad..
These wolves will hunt and keep you safe..

Together, in unison, they have become one.
They share thoughts, expression, and touch.
It is together they take it upon themselves to defend this land.
And together good work will be done.

And if at night you hear the two wolves howl,
Just remember this--
Not all the wolves are big and bad..
These wolves will hunt and keep you safe..

She will teach him to trust the call inside.
She will teach him the art of the woods.
She will teach him how to call upon,
The wild, the ground, and the storms.

And if at night you hear the two wolves howl,
Just remember this--
Not all the wolves are big and bad…
These wolves will hunt and keep you safe..

And if at night you hear the two wolves howl,
Just remember this--
Not all the wolves are big and bad…
These wolves will hunt and keep you safe..

Oh, they will keep you safe..

Criticism:
Up-in-the-air on lyrical melody.
Bridge is good.
Give copy to Stanley.

Unrequited Love

He yearns for her- the love of one
a woman he cannot have.
For the powers of evil have played a part
Of this idiot’s beautiful, yet dark, tragedy.

He loved her so and worshipped her, oh..
A gift of a ring he did give.
But his mind was lost, his final breath swift
And confound to a spirit he is.

He did not see how repulsive she was-
The many she and her Lord brought to death.
Mountains of bodies lay between two tombs.
Some at peace and some unable to rest.

Some still smell of putrefied flesh-
While others are moving bones of art.
Some who wield weapons of swords and bows,
I wonder, do zombies fart..?

Yet we fought for him, to find his love!
This ring, he had to have and hold.
And there she was, lording her tomb of death,
We had to kill her. She attacked. We did not fold.

Oh you idiot; she was such a wench.
She laughed at your gullible love.
But we delivered your ring and in hopes—I will sing.
Burn it. Bury it. Pray to the God’s above.

May they smite that wench and end her rule.
You idiot fool, I truly do pity you.
Oh, but such tragedy is written here.
In your unrequited love.

Criticism:
Write when you’re less hungry.
You’re irritable, and it sets the mood.
Don’t fall in love: again.
Never wear rings gifted by dead guys.

Just a Dream

I hear his laughter booming.
--It is just a dream.
I watch him dance and sing.
--It is just a dream.
He asks me to join him.
--It is just a dream.
He tosses me into the air.

Reputation ruined.
Scars that I’ll always bare.
Hands of love and hatred.
How can I love again, do I dare.

I felt his hands upon me.
--It is just a dream.
The warmth and familiar grip.
--It is just a dream.
He whispers that he loves me.
--It is just a dream.
He hugs me close to him.

Reputation ruined.
Scars that I’ll always bare.
Hands of love and hatred.
How can I love again, do I dare.

Many years later I wake up.
--It is just a dream.
I see the damage he's done.
--It is just a dream.
My books, my stories, my secrets
--It is just…
He took my life. He took it all.

Reputation ruined
Scars that I’ll always bare.
Hands of love and hatred.
How can I love again, do I dare

--I wish this was a dream.

Criticism
-Lyrical Melody flows well with the violin.
-Harmonize the undertone.
-Don't fall in love again.

Mithas

Oh I know a guy
Who knows so-and-so
And so-and-so said
You have to hear of this, oh!

Down in the south,
Where the cannibals feast
Lives a large scary beast
With shiny white teeth!

Oho!

He wields an axe,
But his hands do just fine
Oh he loves to fight
He’ll rip out your spine!

An elf-slayer
Hin-mauler
Human-beater
Fey-eater!

Don’t serve yourself a platter
Of fleshy delight!
Your bones used as toothpicks
Your skull crushed with might!

I urge you, weary travelers,
Take caution and heed
He’s known to just kill
Without thought, he will feed!

Alas, hear this! His name?
I dare not say—
For he will kill the messenger
That keeps his meal away!

But if you are stupid..
and desperately want to be ate!
Oh, the Minotaur will find you.
Sad to see yah go like that, mate.

Criticism
-Instrumental in the beginning, finish with a bravado flare.
-Lute.
-Up-tempo and lavish the bolded areas.

Tombsinger

Can you hear it all around you?
In the shadows and the depths
The souls with lamenting cries-
They want mercy, they want to rest.

But yet the Gods have denied them.
They linger in purgatory state.
Kelmavor’s Gates dare not opened;
For those who’ve chosen such a fate.

Yet, I hear tales of a Tombsinger--
She’ll sing of their sorrows and grief.
She’ll rise up the dead and greet them.
She’ll find a way to give them relief.

She’s a witness to the spirits
She counsels them in their despair
She shares the stories of their sorrows
She is one of the few that care.

The tombsinger’s songs are often solemn
Yet beautiful in their own form and way
If to hear her sing a song of mourning,
Accompanied, she uses a violin to play..

Play of the death, oh singer--
Play the tune of sadness, oh yes.
Play for the restless souls and spirits.
Play for the damned and the distress.

Criticism
-Mourning instrumental in the beginning.
-Flourish the ending with a sorrowful chord; reverberate.
-Violin piece.
-Give a copy to Arial.

Roadstrider's Hymn

Blessed be upon the roads
That we travel on today
May the adventure be a journey
Of exciting and thrilling display

Blessed be upon the roads
That we travel upon up north
Where the giants and the undead reign
May the divine bring justice aforth.

Blessed be upon the roads
That we travel upon to the west
Where the clans of goblins are fighting
Where the Iron City puts good to rest.

Blessed be upon the roads
That we travel upon down south
Where the elven lands are mourning
Where the sea hags won’t shut their mouth.

Blessed be upon the roads
That we travel upon to the east.
Where the pirates hide with treasures full
Where the Landing’s stew is quite a feast.

Blessed be upon us all,
As we close with this I pray-
Blessed be our journeys
Blessed be this glorious day.

Criticism
-Accapella, but would be nicely tuned to a harp.
-Give a copy to Ryleena for her prayers.

Entry: This song was written for a friend, Ryleena. Though, I haven't seen much of her these days. I'm under the assumption a portal has taken her somewhere far away, but I feel that she will return. She is a good friend, a woman that knows well her path in life. The one she prays to, the Roadstrider, is a god of portals and adventuring. She also knew abeoji. How ironic is it that we are from the same place, and came to this island at the same time? She was my first friend, and my tavern drinking buddy, and we got along really well. For her, though, I wanted to create a prayer--a song of worship, just to show gratitude not only to her God, but also to her.

She is the only person I have spoken, in depth, about Xoren. Honestly, I'm surprised why she did not ask why I changed my name, too. If she knew abeoji, she knew that my name was not Deayn. That's why I liked Ry, though. She didn't ask too many questions. She enjoyed life, and she let you be who you wanted to be. I hope one day to adventure again with her, but for now--I'll sing the prayer of worship to all those who travel this island. Hopefully, it'll help someone find their way.

Devilish Eyes

Let my words whisper of torture
Let my music fill you with vain
Devilish eyes widen in splendor
Of hearing those screaming in pain.

Now Lord, I am just a mortal woman
I know very little of your ways,
Yet the stories of the succubi yearning
Don’t seem to keep lustful men away.

And I have heard stories of your Erinyes,
Their deadly ways with their bows.
opponents, fools—no better
Alas, nobody alive ever knows.

Let my words whisper of torture
Let my music fill you with vain
Devilish eyes widen in splendor
Of hearing those screaming in pain.

There are tales of imps and their riddles,
The world say they are out of their mind.
Yet a woman like me knows deception
Can be found in all of mankind.

And lastly, we fall upon you Lord
I have saved the best for last.
The mere utterance of your name,
Could result in punishment fast.

Let my words whisper of torture
Let my music fill you with vain
Devilish eyes widen in splendor
Of hearing those screaming in pain.

Criticism & Notes
-Commissioned by Aldorian.
-Payment: A bouquet of wilted flowers & a hauntingly disturbed staff.
-Handed copy to Aldorian. Noted it would play well with a violin.
-Awaiting feedback. It could have been more detailed, but my lack of knowledge...
-Learn more. An artist needs to be knowledgable in her subject.

Into the Abyss

It is a place that defies all logic
It is a place that mankind should not go
But I’ll tell you a tale of adventure
Into the Abyss, oh, here we go!

It started out a good day
I should have known it to turn bad
When Solomon came a'hunting
For a bold adventuring band!

We headed on down south
Past where the cannibal's feast
We come upon a dark cave
With demonic-looking beast!

Thus there we traveled,
Slaying succubus and the vrock
And we came upon a demon,
Who was sitting still--like a rock!

He laughed at us, toyed..
Solomon swore him a gnome.
We all tried to assure him
That this was a demon at home.

And the further we traveled,
He shadowed us and played
Until we came upon a portal
A portal that dared those who afraid.

We lost a member or two there,
Some of us bolder than the other
And into the portal, we went
My stomach twisting like a mother.

Ugh.

We came upon a Gate,
Not just any, as you can tell.
It was the Gate of the Abyss.
Let me tell yah, It was swell.

Swell, if you like the smell of blood
and impaled bodies on a stick.
I mean, the demon did say
They spent hours decorating it.

And so the Kralshaman offered
What the Gate needed as a token.
He suffered nothing, us shocked.
Another portal there open.

Here we go again,
My stomach twisting at the sight.
Into the Abyss, we go!
Oh, what a hell of a fright.

Here is where I tell you,
I don’t remember quite a lot,
Except for singing my ass off,
Encouraging my companions who there fought.

I saw things that made no sense
Giants and elementals, such like that.
I saw things unimaginable
Like a dragon turning into a cat.

To escape we had to kill
The darkness that lingered there.
The demon could hear it moving
So his help we could not spare.

And finally, after hours
They slew the final one.
And yet another portal opened
Oh, such glorious freaking fun.

Onto another plane, we stepped
Not one that we want to call home.
It was a place of lost souls, wandering
A place where you’re forever alone.

And as we walked, I sang
To the spirits that were left
And the demon, he devoured them,
Committing a heinous act of theft.

Finally, we arrived,
At a gate with two portals shown.
This is where we said goodbye
To the demon, who left alone.

And into the other portal,
we all decided that is where to go.
At the Crossroads, we arrived
We endured the journey, yay-ho!

So, for you I say
If you’re listening, at this point.
Don’t be baited by demons
Stay the hell out of that joint.

Criticism & Notes
-Commissioned by Solomon.
-Payment: A lot of coin. I mean, like, a lot.
-Plays delightfully with a lute.
-Not my best, but not my worst either.
-May need fine-tuning.
-Awaiting feedback.
