  • The Blood Guard have risen from ashes! Despite the loss of their leader, the commander called Bastian has gathered a force and settled in an old Karistad fortress in the north, west of the Grey Mountain foothills where lava has begun to flow.
  • A strange pit has opened in the Dragon’s Watch approach, which a mysterious creature is investigating.
  • Blood Guard and certain mysterious creatures can now be offered Mysterious Tablets in exchange for rare second age goods.
  • Adds some new noble-themed interiors in the Greenvale. Thanks to Jandari for working with us on this.
  • /placeable objects are now unlimited uses/day. Targeting a placeable on itself in your inventory will destroy it. Thanks to EcoTec for the idea during the townhall!
  • Adds a myconid cave in the Nachtlicht cavern. The mushrooms will rise!
  • Updates the Thay outpost based on IC events that recently took place there, including some substantial damage.
  • Fixed the red mage staff type that overwrote previously existing mage staff types.
  • Spells from DM avatars now cast at level99. Watch out, players!
  • Moved Stoneskin in Good domain to 4 (was 5.)
  • Rethawed the Crossroads and Steinkreis approach!

  • Some area updates based on IC event in Castra Aurelia, as well as a few finishing touches.
  • A new cavern has opened in western Lumenshire.
  • Fixes an issue with loot not dropping correctly in the Fungal Caverns.
  • Fixes a bug where players could accidentally load into instanced areas if their bindpoints were in them.
  • Fixed a bug where the Black Cyriacus bounty could be inconsistent.
  • Fixed a bug where a Cache of the Second Age would sometimes give you the item you wanted.
  • Fixed a bug where some VFX were not restricted on summons that should have been.
  • Fixed a bad transition in Hammersong caves.
  • Puts in an (attempted) fix for persistent storage issues. If people have time, try out persistent storage with safe-to-lose items over the next couple of restarts and let me know if it works!
  • Adds +4 items to the /craft menu (crafting limited to two bonus properties).
    -Increased the gold cap for PC crafters adding properties to non-crafted items.

• You told us you loved hunting for tablets. You told us you loved PVP. We've listened! We’ve combined your two favourite things for your added enjoyment. For every fifth PVP death you inflict on another player’s character there is now a % chance they will drop a loose satchel containing a rare tablet! Go out and get a-killing your frenemies now and hunt down those tablets!

• New Charm! A remote merchant in a hard to get to location will now offer a new charm, the Murder Tablet Hunter Charm. This charm has a small % chance to enable a second tablet to drop for every loose satchel found on PVP player death! It’s costly though, and remember, only one charm can be held at any one time.

• Wear Your Goggles! Characters who are at their fourth PVP death, and in line to potentially drop a loose satchel come their next grisly PVP murder, will now glow red to other characters when viewed via the Goggles. In the words of our favourite sentient Thain A.I. “Always ensure you adhere to recommended safe work practice and that your Goggles are On!”

Let the murder games commence!

Lots of war updates and small updates the last few weeks, so catching up!

v6.55

  • Crossroads is now a no portal zone.
    Context: With the increased time between restarts, we’ve recently seen people setting up what are effectively permanent portal networks at the Crossroads. Often there were multiple portals leading to places like the bounty hut and Drudo, making everything almost overly accessible. For the most part, this isn’t something we want - we’re largely happy with current in-game fast travel options, and don’t necessarily want everyone freely materializing at every destination. We want to keep blue/gold portals in their current state because they’re very useful for player events, but their intent is much more for event setups and the specific needs of a scene, rather than as permanent IC transportation.


    -Cooldown between /pchide uses raised to 5 minutes.
    Context: /pchide gets a lot of opinions, and both it and /who get used in a lot of different ways. In general, we’re okay with how it’s currently used, but want to raise the cooldown of /pchide a bit to prevent people easily stalking others while remaining hidden by quickly dropping in and out.


  • Adjusted some Shifter and Druid forms ACs, base ability values, and spell DCs.
    Context: With the Poisonwar and battlefield bringing several prominent druids into open war, we noticed some of the high tier polymorphs were performing too well, being very tanky compared to other baseline melee characters while still dishing out excellent damage (sorry Arakhor!). We didn’t want to make changes during the war itself since Poisonwood was often outnumbered, but now that conflict has settled it’s a better time. We’ve reduced the AC of some of the epic and stronger forms a bit, while also increasing some stats of non-epic forms. We’ve also reverted a previous bugfix that caused only some shapes to merge their item properties, and made shifter abilities like Petrification Gaze add the Shifter’s wisdom mod to their DC. This should leave pre and post-epic shifters a little closer to one another in power and offer the class a little more versatility, while making it a touch harder for epic shifters and druids to tank groups of Ashen Knights.

  • Placeables now display in the description who created them.
    Context: We’ve loved seeing the culture of awesome placeable builds develop, and we love how you can get a sense of current stories on the island just by walking around. We did notice it could be very hard to see where something had come from or if it was recent, so we added an OOC tag to the description of placeables saying who created them. We also wanted to discourage spam of OOC placeables a bit by adding some sense of accountability, since some of the OOC signs were getting to be a bit much.

  • Adds many new robe, tower shield, and small shield models, which are now craftable.

  • Some changes to the south due to IC events. Poisonwood was burned down recently by some angry elves and an orange goose.

  • The Guardian Flesh beast was successfully blown up as a result of IC events.

  • The banite stronghold temple was destroyed due to an IC Event.

  • The strange mysterious musical room in the southern elven temple remains exactly as strange and mysterious as it was before.

  • Fixed Shadowdancer daze DC being too low.

  • Full plate torsos were not always crafting correctly. Now they should!

  • Combat modes were not sticking. Now they are!

  • Hopefully fixed the rare server crash bug that was ruining Corlupi's life.

  • New/updated chat commands:

    • /portrait xxx. This allows you to set your portrait by filename. For example, if the portrait you want is labeled Squidget_H, Squidget_L, Squidget_M, etc, you would type /portrait Squidget_ to set your character’s portrait.

    • /head x. This allows you to change or specify a head model.

    • /hair x. This changes your hair color, and now works anywhere.

    • /tat1, /tat2. These will update the tattoo colors.

    • /summonxtrans, /summonytrans, /summonztrans, /summonxrotate, /summonyrotatey, /summonzrotate. These apply visual transform to your summons, up to 4 meters in each direction. This can be used for creating some strange creatures and event visuals. These also work with familiars and companions (/famxrotate, /compxrotate, etc.) As always, please be responsible.


  • Reduced XP gain when killing monsters who are very far away from your own level. People who want to help lower-level PCs are encouraged to take them to lower-level areas.

  • Persuade, Bluff, and Intimidate are now class skills for all classes.

  • Updates to Greenvale for ongoing post-war repairs.

  • The Elven Portal, the Great Door of Hope, was not correctly spawning their portal operators. This has been fixed.

  • The Elven Portal, the Great Door of Hope, was not correctly being consumed by swarms of hungry spiders. This issue persists, but it is being worked on.

  • Adds some new housing blocks to the Iron City.

  • Adds new custom head models for most race/gender combos. The custom head numbers are as follows for each race/gender combo (numbers prior to this are Bioware standard heads.)

One update the Squidget didn't mention, but that does appear to be in the mod now:

ChaoticDrow updated the item crafting script so that when you craft an item on an anvil, it will now give you a message before crafting telling you how much it will cost, what the DC will be, and what the item's new value will be, as well as the total value that the item can hold (if the item isn't a green-text crafted item, which have no max value). Thanks CD for this very helpful change!
